Problem using text tool in Elements 24

When trying to use the text tool in Elements 24, why does a text in a foreign language show up every time?  I have to delete it every time before I can add my text.

That's just placeholder text called Lorem Ipsum

You can turn it off by going to Edit>Preferences>Type and unchecking Fill new type layers with placeholder text

on a Mac it's Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024 Editor>Settings (Preferences)>Type
