Problem with update of PE 2018

I installed the latest version of PE 2018. When the program starts it tells me there is an update available. This update fails every time with an error code U44M1P7.

Everytime I start the program I get the same message that there is an update available again.

How to solve this problem so that I can finally use the program without losing time with an update that fails ?

I already tried this. The info is a bit outdated though.

I'm working on an iMac OS 10.13.6.

I did have PSE 9 and now I installed PSE 2018. According to AAM both can be updated but both these updates fail:

Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update

Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7

Photoshop Camera Raw 6.5 Update

Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7.

When I look in the finder, I find a map called Adobe Application Manager with a lot of submaps of which one is called core and in this submap there is an application called Adobe Application Manager. Besides the above mentioned map there is a second application with the same name Adobe Application Manager and a third file named Adobe Application Manager (Updater) which is an executable Unix file. Is this all correct?
