Hello,
I have problems with some filters Photoshop Elements Editor 64 bit version 14 (and 15 is the same problem) on a PC running Windows 10 (with latest updates) with 8GB of RAM.
I partitioned my 3TB drive into two partitions: C: (200GB) for the system and apps and D: (the rest) for the data and the TEMP directory. I have successfully modified the 4 environment variables for temporary directories.
Example:
Filters > Distort > Ocean Ripple: Unable to allocate more virtual juxtaposition.
On the other hand, everything works well if I run Photoshop Elements "as an administrator" but I do not like this solution.
So I thought right away of a problem of rights on files and / or directories.
I have downloaded 2 utilities: Process Explorer and Handle (allowing to list the files opened by a given process). I restarted Photoshop Elements "as administrator" and this allowed me to see that problem filters create 3 temporary files directly under the root of the C:! Hence the problem.
However, the working disk declared in Photoshop Elements is the disk D: (and besides, I do not see the disk C: in the list of disks of work proposed).
Adobe does not offer a hot-line for users at discount who are those who buy the products "Elements": not well at all!
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
