Process Multiple Files w/ PDF Files - Elements 11

  When I use Process Multiple Files and I point towards a Folder it only works when there are jpg files in the folder.  I want to convert over 1K+ PDF files into JPG files.  Can I use this product and it's functionality to do this?  Especially, can I do it in a Batch mode?  Next month I may need to convert 2K+ PDF files over to jpg files and it would be good to use this product to create the jpg files for me.  Again, I need it to run in a Batch mode with no UI, once I set it up.

  Can anyone assist me in letting me know if this can be done?  Thanx in advance.

I have no longer PSE11 installed, but I dont think you can batch convert from PDF to JPG. Note that recent Organizer version can no longer support PDF format. Since batch conversion are provided by the "Export" feature of the organizer, it's impossible to batch convert pdf files.

I think the right tool is Acrobat:

Convert or export PDFs to other file formats, Adobe Acrobat

Otherwise, there are online converters.

I have been playing with the Online tools and they do not give the desired results.  Again with the amount of files I have to do, I would like to do this in a Batch mode.  I am very confused as to why so many tools only have online ui products and not have the ability to do the same in a batch mode.  Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 is the best I have played with, yet, I need to do this in a Batch mode.

While Elements organizer is smart enough for various batch conversions, the problem here is that PDF is not an image format, it's a printing (or displaying) format. The native application for that is Acrobat. On the other hand, PDF files may contain multiple pages, which may make batch conversion problematic in general.

okay, can it do it with a Word document?  I can convert the pdf files to a jpg and then convert the jpg to the format I want the jpg in.  It would be much faster, if I could go from Word document to jpg.  I have already made sure they are 1 page only.

Elements will never be able to undestand the Word format.

The pdf format being a printing format, it has to handle images (bitmap) as well as fonts, shapes and more. Before opening a PDF file in the PSE editor, you have to select the page and set your resolution preferences, then Elements can convert and open the selected page.

Edit:

A quick test with Elements 10 organizer which is able to import and manage pdf files.

I have imported a set of single pages pdfs. When I try the 'Export as new files' the only format accepted is 'original' format. Other formats are greyed out.
