PSE 11 not recognising 64 GB SD card on Mac OS El Capitan

Hi,

I am trying to download pictures from my new 64GB SD card to Photoshop Elements 11. It doesnt recognise the card. However it recognises my 32 GB card. I am running MacBook pro with OSX 10.11.6 - EL Capitan.

When I go thru : File > Get Photos & Videos > From Camera or Card Reader :  Get Photos from : <None Detected>

However when I do : File > Get Photos & Videos > By Searching : Browse for the card in the finder . Then I am able to see the pictures. But I can't load them into an album as it doesnt happen in the advanced dialogue box. This is a problem.

Also if I find pictures thru Searching then I can't select which pictures I want to download.

Please Help

Hi Shivendra,

Couple of queries here:

  1. What is the format of your 64 GB card (FAT/NTFS/MAC OS Extended/Journled)?
  2. Format of your 32 GB card.
  3. Is your 64GB card getting detected by OS? To check it, try opening ''Go->Applications->Image Capture' app (default app on Mac) and see if Image capture correctly detects the card and its contents.
  4. Once you attach your 64 GB card, it should be shown as a separate volume on Mac. Is it?

Please let me know if there are any queries.

~Surendra

Hi Surendra,

Reply to your questions:

1. I am not sure what is the formatting of 64 GB card and if it can be changed for SD cards as I believe the MAC OS E Journaled was for only hard drives.

2. I never formatted my 32 GB card and used it directly from packaging just like the 64 GB card

3. Yes 64 GB card get detected by Macs Pictures app and automatically opens it without any issue

4. It shows up as a separate volume.

Regards,
