I did a back up fo my catalog to a hard drive to move to a new computer. Once I'm on new computer trying to restore it I get an error that it cannot restore a .XMP file. Why would I be getting that? It dis have an option to say no, so I did and I did not check do for all incase there was more than one and there was not. But I'm still wondering what that one would be.

Thanks!

XMP files usually relate to the editing of raw files. They are normally found in the same folder as the original.

Have you moved or deleted any?

I have not moved or deleted anything. the only thing I do is  import into my catalog then tag and categoriZe photos. I did write meta tags to the whole catalog and then backed up again and tried importing again. I did not seem to get a .xmp missing this time but now i have json file missing so I aborted again. I think there was a json last time too when I got the xmp missing too. Is there a way to see what photos in the catalog are raw? Thanks for your help!
