PSE 14 Text tool

PSE 14 text tool doesn't work - programme freezes instantly. (I have read one needs to delete Myriad Pro fonts - deleted and later reinstalled, without succes. Also reset general preferences prior to relaunch - no go?!)

Try resetting the type tool. To do that, look for a box with lines in it on the tool's option bar, lower right. Click on this to reset.

Forgot to mention, I had also reset all tools, because once I hit the text tool, everything froze, thus leaving me the only option to use another tool before resetting all tools....

Unfortunately, resetting all tools had no effect - your prompt assistance would be very much appreciated...
