Hello:
I've been using PSE 15 for about four months now. I've organized my photos into three master folders titled as: NikonPhotos (all NEF files organized as sub-folders and Version Sets), PSD photos (for final PSD photos), and JPEG photos (for final JPEG photos). All folders/photos are stored in an external drive with the PSE 15 software located on my desktop.
I've encountered a problem with copying and transferring finished photos from the NikonPhotos folder to the PSD or JPEG folders. I followed the instructions under File > Copy/Move to Removable Drive, indicated the photo in the Version Set that I want to copy, the computer indicates the copying process was successful, but the copied photo does not appear in the PSD or JPEG folders. I can designate a single photo in the Version set using File > Move but the entire Version Set is then moved.
How do I copy a single PSD or JPEG photo, from the Version Set to a PSD or JPEG folder? I've spent several hours trying to find the solution and have gotten nowhere.

Hi,

where are you checking the location of copied files? Is it from inside Organizer? If yes, then after copying, Organizer maintain sthe link to your copied files at older location. The correct way is to check for copied files outside Organizer in File Explorer. Please confirm if you see it there or not.
This is the designed behavior of version sets. When you File > Move any whole/part of version sets, the whole of it is moved to that location. If you wish to move only the top image of version set to other drive, the better option to be used is Copy/Move to Removable drive with "Include all files in selected collapsed Version Sets" option unchecked.
I can designate a single photo in the Version set using File > Move but the entire Version Set is then moved.
To elaborate more on how to copy a single PSD or JPEG photo, from the Version Set to a PSD or JPEG folder?, follow these steps with me:

Thank you for you prompt reply. You answered my question and helped me greatly.
To answer your questions: 1) The folders (NikonPhotos, PSD photos and JPEG photos) reside on the same external drive designated as "H" on the Windows 10 File Explorer; 2) I followed the 9-step procedure that you described to transfer the photo(s) to the PSD and JPEG folders; and, 3) The moved photos did appear in the PSD and JPEG folders on the Windows 10 File Explorer, but not within the respective folders in the Organizer.
Something else: 1) Is there a command, tool, etc., that can be used to make the photos moved to the JPEG/PSD folders appear in the Organizer - I used the Refresh command but it didn't work; 2) I made the move to PSE 15 from PSE 8; needless-to-say this has resulted in a relatively steep learning curve especially in how the Organizer is now used to copy/transfer photos such that I'm changing my workflow pattern; and, 3) When I updated to Windows 10 and a desktop PC with a separate solid state drive ("C") and hard drive ("D"), I also added Lightroom 6 that I haven't used yet. My intention is to finish editing my catalog before incorporating Lightroom 6 into my workflow; I've been told that Lightroom is much more flexible, and better, at sorting photos into folders than PSE 15.
I hope that I answered your questions. If not, or if there's any additional information I can provide, please let me know.
Marion

The moved images would appear in Organizer only after you delete them from there older location when Organizer asks to do so. Otherwise you can import them from the new location again for them to appear in organizer after manually deleting the older (original) ones.
Also, you can convert your Organizer catalog to Lightroom : How to import photos from Photoshop Elements, other Lightroom catalogs, or apps such as iPhoto in Li...
