I am running Win10 and just upgraded to PSE 15. I am using MS Office 365.   In the previous version I was using (PSE 8), when I shared photos via email from with PSE, it would open an new Outlook email and I would just fill in the email address(es) and hit send.  In PSE15, I go through the dialog boxes and nothing happens.  I have set up Microsoft Outlook as the default email client in the preferences.   I checked the outbox, drafts, sent, and junk folders in Outlook and don't see any emails generated by PSE15

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Joel

Have you setup the outlook to send and receive emails?  To check this, can you try opening Outlook on its own (not from PSE) and try to send an e-mail to yourself using some other e-mail account.  For example, if the outlook is setup to use your Hotmail account then try sending an e-mail to your gmail account if you have one or something other account.

If this works, then you need to go back to PSE by launching the Organizer.  Then go to:

Edit >> Preferences >> Email

Make sure Outlook is set there as default.

Now click OK button to close the preferences dialog box and now choose one image (any image) and click on the Share button shown on the top right corner of the window.  Follow the online instructions and one of the steps require you to enter the email of the recipient, so do it and try sending the email.  In fact create another recipient (yourself) so that you can check it immediately.  After creating yourself as recipient, send yourself an image to see if it works.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick feedback.  Unfortunately the issue is still there.

I have:

1) made sure that 'Microsoft Outlook' is selected in the PSE15 Email Preferences.  After doing this, Outlook does not open an email.

2) I tried adding an email address in the contact list next, and I have the same issue - no email opening.

In the systray, I can see an Outlook icon, and when I hover over it says another application (I assume PSE15) is using the profile, so something is happening in the background, but PSE still won't open an email to share.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Can you please try closing all running instances of Microsoft Outlook from Task Manager.

Once done, try sending a test email directly from Outlook > I am asking you to do this to ensure that Outlook is working properly.

After you are able to do so, please try out sending email from Elements Organizer as per the instructions shared above.

Let us know if you are still facing any issue.

Thanks,

Anwesha

Yes, I am able to send messages through Outlook.

As per your request, I:

1) sent myself a test message in Outlook (I have never had an issue with Outlook on this computer, and it worked fine with PSE8)

2) then tried sharing again in PSE15 leaving the address space blank, and then again adding myself as a recipient.  Neither worked.  After I hit "next", a dialog says 'Preparing Files', then it goes away and the bar on the right hand side of the window for sending messages disappears.  That's it.  No Outlook email is opened, nothing sent.

3) I tried (2) using Outlook both open and closed.  When outlook is closed, an icon appears in the systray indicating Outlook is being used by another program.  But again, no email is opened by PSE15 (or sent).

Update:

I manually added my email account, and added an address into the contacts in PSE15, and can send photos now in PSE15.  Given that this worked, I tried to import my Outlook address book using the import function, but nothing happens   PSE8 used to open an email in Outlook, PSE15 will not.  Seems to be something wrong with Outlook connectivity and PSE15 on Win10
