PSE 15 will not add NAS directory to Watch Folders

PSE 15 will not add a NAS directory to "Watch Folders".  I just imported the entire contents into the catalog (no issues at all) but wanted to set a "Watch Folder" on the whole NAS directory structure and PSE 15 simply will not do it.

Steps to duplicate: Bring up the "Watch Folders" window and click Add, navigate to the mapped drive where my photos are stored and click the directory, then click okay, I'm brought back to the "Watch Folders" window but the directory isn't added as an entry!

If I add a folder on my C: drive on even a USB drive physically connected to my system, there is no issue at all.  It's just NAS directories.

I have tried this many, many times including getting in and out of PSE 15, rebooting the PC, etc.  Nothing has any affect.

Very, very frustrating.

That's the second time I see this request (I believe last time it was PSE14). I don't use NAS myself and don't see any reason to, but I believe that it's 'by design'. There is no support for NAS by Adobe in Elements:

PSE 15: NAS support

So, it would be wiser to forget about watched folders for your NAS, and simply use the Get files from files or folders method periodically:

issue with "watch folders"

"There is no support for NAS by Adobe in Elements"

That obviously isn't true:

1) I built a whole 18,000+ pics catalog straight from the NAS

2) Preferences is set to put pics on the NAS from cameras

3) Preferences is set to put new pics on the NAS

In all cases, PSE15 had no issue referencing a NAS drive/path.

...until we got to monitoring folders.  Obviously, this is a bug.  If it doesn't support a NAS, then none of that should work.  It is illogical you can build an entire new catalog from the NAS but then the product won't monitor for changes from the same location it built a new catalog from?

Bug.

Just what I said.

You won't get support by Adobe, that's all what I said. Prove me wrong.

I never said Elements (even the Organizer) can't work with NAS.

Whether it's a bug or 'by design', that's another story.
