Hello,
Has anyone else had this issue and if so, best way to fix?
I had to move photos due to HD issue (abt 20k photos). There were placed in a different subdir than what was previously linked in Organizer. I tried to use the reconnect feature (File->Reconnect->All Missing Files) to relink the files. When i pointed to ONE subdir to do the reconnect I received a bunch of weird error messages that I had to click thru (could not connect file or something like that). Noiw, when I go back into Organizer, the photos are crossed with others of the same name (including the tags).
For example, i have 4 files with the same name, but in different dirs and diff sizes (from 10 years apart... new cameras start with 0001 -- did not reset counter -- yes, i know):
(1) SubDirA\IMG_1234.jpg
(2) SubDirB\IMG_1234.jpg
(3) SubDirC\IMG_1234.jpg
(4) SubDirD\IMG_1234.jpg
After the reconnect, file (1) has the thumbnail of file (2) as well as date/time., BUT still has the TAGS that were associated with FIle (1). FIle (2) has the missing file in the upper left corner, but the TAGS that were originally associated with it. It appears that reconnect found the first matching file name and set that as the location for FIle (1). I can't reset the FIle (1) to the correct location.
Thank goodness i did a full backup last week. Short of doing a restore, are there any options? Is this standard behavior for reconnect?
Rob
