I recently purchased a new computer, and am trying to install PSE 2022 (v20) upgrade onto this new macbook air.  After I download the DMG, I click on it, installation begins, then I get error code 1.  I have tried to repair and uninstall using cloud uninstaller.  Still same result.  Should I have bought the full version rather than upgrade (I owned license to v15)?  Is there something else I'm missing?

Code 1 may help https://community.adobe.com/t5/Get-Started/Creative-Cloud-desktop-failed-to-install-Error-code-1/td-...

As far as I know, the upgrade version IS the full version, except at a lower price... HOWEVER if you are required to enter your previous serial number during install then the upgrade version is different

I have the same problem. I have the new M1 iMac, and I tried to download the trial version of PSE 2022, and got a window saying "error code 1".  I had PSE 2018 on my old computer, and it worked great, but it won't work with my new computer, so I tried to download PSE 2022 without success. I then tried to download the PSE 2021 version and it worked! Hope the 2022 problem can be resolved.

Elements is not yet fully compatible with an M1 chip.  See this post

I thought that it would play nicely with Rosetta or whatever bridge program Macs use, but since I know nothing about Macs, I don't know whether this will allow you to install the program.  In any event, the post I have linked from an Adobe employee suggests otherwise.

LATEST

Hi,

Please use the latest installer available here to install on M1 machines: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/photoshop-elements-downloads.html

This should resolve the error and install the applications successfully.

Thanks,

Vipin
