I would like to ask if the 2023 version of Photoshop Elements is compatible with the Camera Raw 15.2 plugin. Or to which version of the program it can be installed. acc. According to the Adobe website, the APSE version is Camera Raw 14.4 and Camera Raw 15 is required to open CR3 files from EOS R6 MKII.
Yes, Elements 2023 can be upgraded to ACR 15.2 if you follow the instructions located here precisely.

I have Elements 2022 but having trouble with my lossless compressed M size files for the Sony A7IV updated recently which I believe might be covered in the ACR raw 15.2. They are looking pinky and distorted. I have updated different raw versions before by following the the directions about copying file and moving it to the the proper version in the common file section. Should I be able to do this again? I have a newer windows 11 computer with very good current software.

Thanks that worked--- now I can view the different 3 sizes of lossless compressed raw files from my Sony A7IV after the latest firmware update. Looks a lot better that the pinky purple photo I started with.

Solved one problem and created another. Now when I edit photo with camera raw in the elements 2022 then go to next stage to edit some more then saving file is shown as PSD huge file ( 149Mb) and when I switch to a jpg it gives me no choice of file size reading on side and max is very small-- 7.5 MB . Side panel says only previewable in 8bit. Then when I try to go back to organizer it says I need to save Psd format before closing. My raw file is what it should be around 33 MB . Also when in edit section under enhance the tone smart fix choice is grey out. I sometimes choose this then delete just to see if I am in the ball park with my changes. What am I doing wrong?

Gather that problem is that in raw the setting changed automatically to 16 bit that made e change. Gather I am better off on 8bit as files more what I am use to dealing with.

I have followed the instructions for updating to ACR 15.3. Downloaded it. Stopped all PSE 2023 programs. Run the 15.3 installer. Restart PSE and Help->About Plugin->Camera Raw still shows version 14.4.0.1121. How do I get ACR to update? Window 10, Latest version of PSE 2023. Thank you for any assistance to get this working.

@Martin298481977qvl, you must follow the instructions contained in the article linked in this thread. See the correct answer that appears at the top of this thread.
Added: For some reason, Adobe has deleted or changed the URL of the page that was previously linked. If I cannot find where the workaround is, I will post the instructions here later.

Thank you for the response. Those instructions do not work for Elements2023.

Sorry @Martin298481977qvl, but how do you explain that many users here and in many forums have confirmed that the link given by Greg (originating from an Adobe tech doc) has worked correctly?
Please take the time to try again, following the installation details strictly.
Don't you remember that the recommended workaround from the beginning of ACR in Elements, more than fifteen years ago was to use the free DNGconverter provided by Adobe? Instead of waiting for the next yearly release of PSE, you downloaded the app which was able to batch convert a whole folder of proprietary raw files and to convert them to the universal DNG raw format? An additional step, but free. As the PSE is not a subscription model, users will upgrade anyway after a few years to get up to date with features and bug fixing. Getting a top of range camera would be a good reason to upgrade PSE next year, no?
Your own solution to use Lightroom classic is not what I would recommend. LR classic is included in the photographer's plan as well as the full Photoshop. The subscription fee is interesting for pros and intensive amateurs. You don't even need to install LR or Photoshop and you are allowed to use the full recent version of ACR with Bridge (which is free with PSE anyway). I have that subscription without using either LR or the full Photoshop, only Bridge and Acrobat.
Some users might be financially interested by the subscription the Lightroom (cloud) version with more cloud space (1tb).

@Martin298481977qvl, as I indicated in my earlier amended post, the link provided in this thread is being redirected to a different page which does not contain the proper instructions for updating ACR in Elements. Since you have already downloaded and installed ACR 15.3, here is what you need to do:
Navigate to the following folder:
Copy the Camera Raw plug-in file (Camera Raw.8bi from the CC > File Formats folder that is mentioned in the above step.
Navigate to the following folder:
Since I know nothing about Macs, I am assuming that the plug-in file is named Camera Raw.8bi, but if you have a Mac and don't see it in the Mac location, you may have to figure out the correct file name. If you are a Windows user, and follow the instructions, Elements will update to the latest ACR that you downloaded.
I have not yet updated my ACR to 15.3, but I do have ACR 15.2 up and running in Elements. Please report back if you cannot get 15.3 installed and I will investigate further.

@MichelBParis, the link in my original post (marked as correct) is being redirected to the general ACR update page. Since there have been some recent changes to the original linked page, I don't know whether this change in the URL is accidental or intentional. In any event, here is the original page on Archive.org and you may want to bookmark it:
