PSE 2023 makes png-files opaque when processing multiple files

I have PSE 2023, when I use the menu option "Process multiple files something" under File, (I have the swedish version), it makes .png-files opaque when I only wanted to change size. So, it basically turns them into .jpg-files instead. I can do it in Paint shop pro, which is 15 years old software, but it can't resize items so for that I must use PSE 2023.  Am I doing something wrong to cause this?

The original png files have transparency, but Process Multiple Files removes the transparency

and they are still saved as png files, is that correct?

I don't understand the question, I look at them in Windows explorer or PSE 2023...

Did you make sure you used the proper png format in the Process Multiple Files dialog?
