PSE 2024 error

Guest

I have purchased a new copy of PE 2024 from Micro Center. I have an older computer with a Core i-5 3330 processor. PE 2024 editor will not open. Micro Center would not refund me but just said that it was a hardware issue & that I had to eat the $100.00.

When click to open editor, I get an error message that says "ippiPyramidGetSize_L: The specified procedure cannot be found" What can be done to fix this?

Your computer probably does not meet the system requirements for Elements 2024.  However, a recent update to Elements 2024 has caused a number of potentially similar problems and Adobe has indicated that it will be releasing another update to fix some of these issues.  So, all I can suggest is to keep an eye on these forums for any news that an update has been released.

In future, you may want to reconsider purchasing Adobe software from a third party vendor.  Adobe usually has a 30 day money back guarantee.  And, currently, PSE 2024 is on sale for $69.99.

I'm not a geek, but I have enough skills to install memory cards, graphic cards etc.. Could it be something as simple as needing a graphics card with more RAM or the computer RAM itself? The Ram is 6 Gig DDR3 style & will support up to 16Gig. The graphics is an an Intel HD graphics 2500.

I seriously doubt whether adding RAM or changing the graphics card will improve your situation.  Your card suggests that you have a 3rd generation CPU. Elements 2024 requires a 6th generation processor.
It looks like Adobe has released a new update for Macs.   I expect an update to be released for Windows soon. Perhaps it will make your installation workable.

I had the same issue and this is what fixed it. I also have an older computer and this work around did fix the issue but I actually ordered a new laptop yesterday because it just runs like crap on mine. Hopefully your system is better than mine. I have a crappy CPU and only 8GB of ram so editor freezes up. I hope this is helpful.

I chatted with support a couple days ago and they said Adobe was working on fixing the issue but this is a work around:

Open >Properties for PE 2024 and change Compatibility mode to Windows 7

Then de-install and download this file:

https://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/pse/24_0/PhotoshopElements_2024_LS30_win64_ESD.zip

Extract and install

Once installed, open Photoshop Elements and go to Photo Editor > Edit > Preferences > General > Application Updates. Then disable the automatic updates and enable the Remind me later option.

Make sure you have your serial number handy but you will have to re-enter it and I don't know if it matters for the same computer or not but support also told me to make sure I logged out of PSE on my adobe account (not the actual PSE element) because there is a limit to how many systems you can activate.

@Deleted User, the update for Windows which is supposed to fix this problem has recently been released.  Please check whether your program has been updated and whether it solves your problem.

If you cannot open the program to determine whether it has been updated, try uninstalling it and then download and install a fresh copy from this link.

Please report back if it works.  Thanks.
