PSE 2024 Tools Column Switched From Double To Single Column

While working with PSE 2024, somenow the tools column switched from a double column to a single column. The result was that I could not access some tools and this disrupted my workflow. I could not see any way to change it back to the default view. In the end I reset al preferences and that fixed the problem.

Does anyone know why this might have hapened? if it ever happens again, is there an easier way to get back to the default view without resetting all preferences?

Never have seen that with PSE before- and I couldn't dupllicate your issue.   Reinstall / resetting the preferences often clears up funky behavior.

I believe in a previous post some time ago about the same issue, the fix was to go to Window>Reset Panels

Thank you Glenn and Jeff for your replies. As I suspected, this is a programe error. I never thought of  Window/reset panels. I will try that if it ever happens again.
