PSE 2024 / Wndows 10 mouse cursor disappears

Have used PSE (Elements, not big PS) for many years, and version 2024 for many months with no problems. Yesterday, the mouse cursor disappeared in the Organizer. Moving the mouse still highlights menus, but the cursor is invisible. I've Googled the problem enought to know this is a frequent Adobe problem, and I've tried every suggested solution including re-installing the software from scratch. The only thing that makes a difference is pressing the CAPS-Lock key: that brings the cursor back for a few seconds, but then it disappears again no matter what else I do or don't do. Plus, pressing the CAPS-lock key sometimes makes the screen flicker or even go completely dark. Pressing it again brings it back usually.

Mouse cursor is visible in ELements Editor, in big Photoshop, in Windows, etc. Only disappears in the Organizer.

This is incredibly frustrating for a tool that I use almost daily. Anybody have any other ideas?

Stumbled on a work-around: do NOT maximize the window. It's clumsy and obviously a bug, but at least I can use the mouse. Sheesh.

Thanks to those who offered help.

While you say this is a frequent Adobe issue, I have seen it mentioned only rarely.  What hardware does your computer have, particularly how much RAM?  And how large is your catalog?

Do you have Auto sync to the Cloud turned on?  I have found this to be a huge resource hog.  If you have it enabled, try turning it off in Edit>Preferences>Auto sync to see if it makes any difference.

I suggest you try contacting Elements support. You can start a chat session by going to the Contact Adobe Support page.  Make sure you are signed into your Adobe account and try typing Agent when the chat window opens. (If you use my link, the chat window should open automatically.)

Thanks for the reply. "Frequently" I guess meant "in response to Google searching for 'Adobe disappear mouse cursor."' I.e., a lot of things turned up expressing that same type of error. But you're right: it's probably not "frequent" in an absolute sense.

My computer has 16 gigs of RAM; catalog holds about 65,000 images. If there were an easy way to divide the catalog into two or more separate catalogs, I would. But the process looks pretty manual, at least when I last looked at it. No autosync to the cloud--all local.

Thanks for the links; I'll have to give that a try. Appreciate your help.

Do you have a wireless mouse?  If so, have you tried changing the battery?

Please let us know if Adobe Support can give you a solution.

P.S.

I did chat with a live representative, and s/he suggested several things, including editing the Registry, none of which helped. I discovered the window de-maximize trick after reading somebody say words to that effect somewhere in a forum.
