PSE 2024 won't see drive D for scratch disk

Hi all.  In an attempt to stop my scratch disk full errors down I wanted to change the scratch disk location to my D drive which has the most space.  Preferences only shows drives C, which is an SSD and E which is a subset on C.  The D drive, an HHD, does not show up on the list.  Any suggestions?

How is the D drive formatted?

NTSF, , ExFat, or FAT32?

I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been using my phone to reply.  It is formatted NTSF.

If the ssd is an external drive:  make sure you computer is set up to not turn off power to usb ports.  Let me know if you need help with that.

both drives in use C (with included e) and D are internal and original to the build
