PSE 8 W10 update 1703

New Here ,

Hi.

I've been using PSE 8 for years (I now it's an old version, but I'm used to it, and it seemed to be used to me).

Since update 1703 (Windows 10), it doesn't work any more : it seems to open normally, but soon comes the following message :

"impossible de continuer en raison d'une erreur matérielle ou système. Cette erreur est irrémédiable".

(impossible to go further ; system or hardware error ; this error is irremediable)

After trying to restart my machine, I un-installed then re-installed Photoshop Element from the CD.

Installation ran well, but the error still remains.

Unfortunately, I didn't keep the previous version of W10.

Could anybody help me ?

Thanks.

Apologies for this inconvenience.

Request you to uninstall using Adobe CC cleaner tool, Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems and then install afresh.

Please see related thread: Unable to continue: hardware or system error

Thanks,

Arshla

Hi

Sorry if I didn't find the thread concerning the error message.

So I tried with the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, I didn't find "photoshop elements" in the list, so I typed "12" (file host).

After the message "completed successfully", I re-started, re-installed PSE8, then re-started again.

I didn't find the log file, but PSE now seems to work properly, I turned off and on my computer several times, everything seems to be stable.

Thanks a lot !

Just before I had your answer, something strange happened, I tell if ever this could be useful to someone :

Though habitually I don't use the organizer, I tried to open it when the message "irremediable error" occurred on the editor.

The organizer opened, but only a little part of it was visible on my right screen (I have an extended desktop), and I couldn't either move ou use it.

So I went back to a single screen desktop, restarted, and ... both the editor and organizer worked.

I went back to my extended desktop, it still worked... until I turned off my computer.

???

Thank you very much anyway. Regards. M. B.
