Long time PSE user here but have never had this problem.
After I edit a photo, I always save as a TIFF file and a JPEG. Suddenly, PSE is saving my work as incredibly small files. The image I am currently working on is a 17.3MB RAW file. After editing it very slightly, PSE is saving it as a 5.33MB TIFF and a 563 KB jpeg. On the TIFF options, I have "None" for Image compresion. For the jpeg, I always choose Quality 12, Maximum, Large file, but it is saving it as such a tiny file!
I have not knowingly made any changes to PSE. I have used PSE weekly for years and know how big my images should be based on what I do to edit them, but something has changed because the file sizes that PSE is saving them to is unacceptable. Any suggestions for a fix would be greatly appreciated!

What version of photoshop elements and operating system are you using?
If you reopen both the JPEG and TIFF files and go to Image>Resize>Image Size are the Pixel Dimensions the same as the original raw file?

Thank you, Jeff, for the followup. It seems to have something to do with the crop tool because this is what I am finding:
Original RAW file: 17.3MB 3670x5496
If I open the Raw file and just save it, with no changes, the result is:
Tiff: 57.1MB 3648x5472 300ppi
Jpeg: 7.8MB 3648x5472 300ppi
But if I barely crop it, at 300 ppi, I get small files. (See Screenshot 379 to see crop)
Tiff: 6.21MB 1200x1800
JPeg: 914KB 1200x1800
Same crop at 600ppi, I get:
Tiff: 24.7MB 2400x3600
JPeg 3.5MB 2400x3600
BUT.......... If I perform essentially the same crop in at 300ppi DXO Photo Lab (see Screenshot 380), I get:
Tiff: 49.4MB 3885x5077
Jpeg: 14MB 3885x5077
Why is PSE reducing the size of my cropped image so much? It did not used to do this and I did not change anything on purpose. Any help would be appreciated as PSE is my main editing starting point and I'd rather not change, but this issue makes PSE an non-starter for me. Thanks again for your help!

Hello
I just got Elements 2024 and when I import my raw file it makes it into a Dmxci?? something like that. If I import raw I expect it to stay raw until I edit and export it as a jpeg but what I haven't edited should stay a raw file. This is not going good so far. I call for help and Nikle wasnt interested to help. I called back and when I mention I spoke to him early he hung up. I called back and he hung up again.

Indeed, it's merely the cropping which explains the pixel size difference.
Your original file is 5472 pixels in width, which provides a fine printing size at 300 ppi for 5472 / 300 = 18.24 inches. That's 912 ppi.
If you decide to crop in the pixel editor (you are not cropping in the ACR conversion module of Elements) then to get 300 ppi for a printing size of only 6 inch you only need 300 x 6 = 1800 pixels.
With raw files and the ACR converter you have the opportunity to crop non destructively and in batch before sending the result to the pixel editor for resampling (to the printing size). The cropped part is sent to the editor withour any up/downsizing, and the editor sends the result to the printing engine which does the resizing.

Jeff, in my response to your question, I neglected to state that I am using PSE 2023 and Windows 10.
