PSE11 to 15 - benefits for retouching scanned images

Explorer ,
Jan 24, 2017 Jan 24, 2017

I am currently using PSE 11.  My main use is to retouch scanned images from negative and positive in TIFF format.

I use Epson scanner software to handle most dust removal but I am left with editing the remaining dust marks, scratches, blemishes, rotating, cropping, recolouring, adjusting skin tones, lightness and contrast.  I find myself flipping between Expert and Guided modes to achieve all of this.

I don't do any image library management in PSE because I can't get on with the  Adobe keyword management approach.

Are there any better tools in PSE 15 compared to 11 that would help me with the retouching tasks?

Thanks for your help.

- Paul

Hi Paul, you probably would not benefit as it appears you are re-touching photos individually. PSE15 introduced batch editing (instant fix) but that probably would not work for you as you are not making use of the Organizer. In any case I would always recommend using the 30 day free trial before purchasing an upgrade. There is a summary of new features in PS15 at my blog.
