PSE15 - Error while attempting a backup

New Here ,
Jan 21, 2017 Jan 21, 2017

I have two catalogues one with 32,000+ photos and the other with 2,000+ so I opted to do a complete backup of the smaller one first.

I've tried several times and each time get this message:

Error encountered while writing file(s)

c:ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\Design16\catalog.pse15db

What do I do now please?

PC Win10

Generally, you specify the destination folder for the backup on an external drive (that should not be the root drive). Is that what you are doing? Specifying a new folder even on the same drive would be possible.

Thanks so much - that is exactly my problem. Now I've created a folder for the small back to go in it is working as it should.

Such a simple solution but one needs to know about to do it. (It would have been good if PSE15 has asked for a folder or prompted me to make one.)

Thanks again.
