Question:

I have photo shop elements 11 on a new Dell PC.  When I try to import photos from a CD nothing happens.  I click IMPORT and then from files and folders and when that window opens, I click OPEN and nothing happens.  I also click MEDIA button and nothing happens.  What step am I missing?

Because this is a user to user forum for other Elements users just like you. It's not a chat with an Adobe Employee. You have to wait that another user is available (and willing) to answer your question.

When that window opens, do you navigate to your CD drive on the folder tree?

Yes.  I forgot to post that I do highlight the C: Drive but there is something that I must not being doing that I should.  It frustrates me that it doesn't import the pictures from my CD.

Possibly it would work better if you were to import the photos from the CD into the PC, (into a folder), then select that folder from files & folders.   Just a thought, Trish

Hi John,

Alternatively , you can try out this option for import:

  • Open the CD folder in Windows explorer.
  • Select the files here you want to import.
  • Have Elements Organizer open and visible in taskbar.
  • Drag the selection in Windows explorer and take it over to Organizer icon in taskbar.

The Organizer comes into focus. Drop the selection here.

The files should get imported.

Try this and mention if this doesn't work.

Thanks,

Arshla
