I recently upgraded from the Canon R5 to the R5 MkII. I have Photoshop Elements 2021 which supported raw files from the R5. Will Photoshop Elements 2024 support the MKII or do I have to wait for the 2025 version.
A COUPLE OF THINGS ABOUT ACR and pse: You are actually working on a copy of the original raw image- the original raw image remain untouched. ACR for PSE is a bit different than ACR found in photoshop. Manually installing the version of ACR you need is not dificult.
It's not listed as a supported camera yet frome adobe. I would imagine that it may require something like ACR 16.6 (the highest version now is 16.5)-- but even any versions higher that 16.5 have not been released yet. No, there is no "secret place" to go to to get a higher version (greater than 16.5) of adobe camera raw.
No, you will not get a free upgrade to pse 2025unless you pruchase pse 2024 today, and pse 20-25 is released a few days later- then you might be able to give them a sob story and get a free upgrade.
No I do not know when PSE 2025 will be released- typically the release period is from early october to early november.
Users of previouseversionds of PSE will usuall get a $20 discount - if they own a previous version of PSE during the purchase process of buyingthe lattest version. THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN WHEN THE PRICE DROPS TO $59.
The R5 MkII is already supported in Lightroom and Photoshop with ACR 16.4 which is not available in Photoshop Elements 2021. Is ACR 16.4 available in Photoshop Elements 2024 or do I have to wait for Elements 2025.
I have a subscription to Lightroom and Photoshop but for some things I like the quick and easy aspects of Photoshop Elements.
It does not appear that ACR 16.4 works for Elements 2024. Pleaase confirm that it is suppose to be compatible. A recent update only provided support for Nikon and Sony cameras.
