Well, now I know what it is......HOW do I open it?
I just looked this up and saw on another thread that manually changing the extension from psdt to psd lets the template open as an image in earlier versions of Photoshop. Can you try that in Elements and report back?

I tried that.
I get "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"
Will a .psdt file not open in Elements? I just downloaded it from the site and its just a pretty simple collage file.

Ah Elements. I don't use Elements but I'll move your post to the Photoshop Elements forum so hopefully you will get a quick answer

Looking into this more for you, I just watched Deke's title about templates (What's New in PS 2017) on www.lynda.com. To save an psd as a template, he simply changes the extenstion to .psdt. So the reverse should work.

I read that too. I changed the file to .psd and it will let me open it now! It gives me the option to choose to flatten or keep layers. I've tried both flattening and leaving layers and i'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do with this file next......but.....now it opens! On to my next google search I guess! Thanks!
