Can images be re-ordered in albums and catalogs in Elements 2019? If so, I would like to know how.

In the Organizer Albums have a number of sort options:

Newest

Oldest

Name

Import Batch

Album Order

Album Order lets you drag thumbnails into your own custom order. Each thumbnail then gets a numbered fixed position.

Thank you for your help. I tried doing that but album did not retain the new order when I re-opened it.

Whenever you move away from an album, the sort order will revert to whatever you had it set for All Media, e.g. newest or oldest.  That sort order will remain until you again select an album and choose Album Order from the Sort by dropdown menu.  If you move from one Album to another, the sort order should remain in Album Order.

Thanks Greg for your help. I understand now how the sorting works and also its limitations.

Brian

When re-opening the album, check that 'album order' is selected.

Brian if you keep the album sort set to Album Order it should stick.
