I’ve been using Photoshop for years to keep and organize my photos. I recently moved from one laptop to another. I backed up on the old system and restored on the new. All the photos were in folders based on dates. I had tags and names as well.
When all restored, I found I lost many photos. The photos remaining are on the C drive of the laptop. Photoshop has all the thumbnails. Some with photos, some “missing,” and some on a DVD or other device.
I always thought Photoshop actually imported the photos. Apparently, it sometimes leaves them on the USB drive, DVD, or even phone. I went back to every old device, DVD, and backup to find as many as I could. They are now all stored on an external hard drive.
I now want to redirect Photoshop Organizer to the external hard drive. But I want all the date based folders, tags, and names. If successful I will delete all the photos on the C drive.
Any suggestions?
