remove translucent

I have for quite some time taken one photo layer and dragged it on top of another with no issues. Now, when I drag a photo and put it onto another, the top layer has a translucent effect, where the bottom layer comes through the top photo.

What version of photoshop elements and operating system are you using?

Probably the best thing to do is reset the photoshop elements  editor preferences.

Press and hold the Shift+Ctrl+Alt (windows) or Shift+Command+Option (mac) keys just after starting the launch of the pse editor

(you have to be quick about pressing the keys or you won't get the below dialog)

Keep holding the keys down until you get a dialog asking if you want to Delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File

Press Yes
