I've been told that I need to resize a photo for an Etsy listing. I need 2000px and also 1MB in size. Most photos at 2000px are about 3.2MB. How do I make this happen?
The recommended size for listing images is 2000px for the shortest side of the image, and a resolution of 72PPI.
For online use 72 PPI is fine, so is medium, plus, the image will load pretty fast as well.
The HIGH setting for jpeg quality makework for you as well.
In situations such as this, I usually open the file, then go to File>save for web. In the dialog that opens you can select the file type (e.g.PNG24, JPEG), and adjust the new size to suit. Be sure that transparency & constrain proportions are checked. The mechanics are straight forward.
