I have been printing cards from my paintings using Photoshop elements for many years. One favorite image now is not printing correctly. In the dark background there are coppery orange blotches. Anything I can do other than try to correct it using the brush and carefully try to take them out. I no longer have the painting so i can't retake the photo.

Try the clone stamp tool and/or the spot healing brush.

If there are areas without the blotches, you can select such a "normal" area with the Rectangular marquee tool, place the selection on a new layer (press CTRL+J). Then, activate the move tool, and place the selection over the defective spot(s) - as a patch.

Try updating or rolling back your printer driver.

Is that the only image affected?
