Rotating Batch of Photos

New Here ,
Aug 11, 2018 Aug 11, 2018

Hello, I am using PSE 15.  I find that I constantly have a batch of photos that require rotation, usually 90 degrees to the right.  I can do them one at a time, but I cannot see how to do a batch of them.  Sometimes I have anywhere from 50 to 100 that need to be rotating, and then saved.  thanks!

You could use the Organizer for that so the rotation is lossless (done with the metadata)

In the Organizer select the photos then go to Edit>Rotate Selected Photos 90° Right

If the photos are jpegs then resaving them could degrade the quality.

Hi Jeff, thanks so much for the answer.  I"m afraid I am not super-proficient with organizer.  I did go into the ORGANIZER program, and I was able to simultaneously  rotate two photos, but I could not find a SAVE option.  THere was a SAVE METADATA option and I did that, but it did not change the rotation in my file folder. is there something else I need to do?

What operating system are you using?

What file type are the photos that need rotation?

I am using Windows 7 and they are JPEG files. In all honesty I don’t understand why it isnt a more simple task within the elements program itself. I was able to do it very easily with Corel paint and so I reinstalled that program I did exactly what I needed in about three seconds (I.e. wrote a script With batch processing capabilities).

I’ll still continue to use elements 15 but I just find it amazing that I couldn’t write a script or do some type of Batch processing with the adobe Photoshop elements program.
