My "save bin as album" is grayed out in PSE 14. I am in expert mode. I have tried switch from guided back to expert and have googled for the answer and can't find anything! Does anyone know why it is grayed out?
Thanks!

Hi,
Apologies for the delayed response.
In your photo bin none of the images seem to be selected.
click on any image in Photo bin and the check if this option enables.
Thanks,

I have already tried that. Selecting them does nothing. The "save bin as album" is still grayed out.

I have tried all sorts of things to reproduce your problem without success. It will be hard to find what is special in your setup.
(Note, I never use that feature myself as the organizer gives me all the tools to group and organize my working files)
Albums are good ways to prepare projects. The option to save the photobin in an album uses the resources of the Organizer. Does it work normally on your present catalog?
When tools don't work as expected you should suspect a corruption in your preference: menu edit > preferences > General 'reset Preferences on next lauch'.
If you have already done this, maybe an uninstall plus reinstall my solve your problem.
EDIT:
I have been able to reproduce your problem.
I have located the current catalog of PSE14.
I have renamed that folder to fool the organizer so that no catalog can be opened.
As expected, the editor could not find a catalog into which you could save an album. (Quod demonstrandum erat... )

Thank you for your response! I really don't understand what you are saying in your EDIT: or how it can be fixed. If you can clarify, that would be great!
I do not use the PSE organizer anymore as it is terrible. It mad the program run much slower and when transfering stuff into the organizer, it made duplicates and triplicates. So I prefer my photos not be in the PSE organizer. Is that why it doesn't work in this version? Did Photoshop make changes? In previous versions, it has worked and allowed me to save it where I wanted it to.
Thank you!

Let's try...
I do not use the PSE organizer anymore as it is terrible
What's funny is that in French, 'terrible' can mean either 'wonderful' or 'terrific'...
Even if we don't agree on that, what is meaningful in your case is that maybe you don't use the Organizer yourself, but the editor does use it.
It mad the program run much slower
Yes, depending on your organizer options, like allowing face recognition or other automatic background tasks. Generally, that gets better once the data has been indexed. That would be a matter for another discussion.
and when transfering stuff into the organizer, it made duplicates and triplicates.
Another matter of discussion.

Well the photo files themselves are not in the PSE organizer, they are storee on your computer. If you prefer not to include (register, index) them in a catalog, that's your choice.
Is that why it doesn't work in this version? Did Photoshop make changes? In previous versions, it has worked and allowed me to save it where I wanted it to.
If I am guessing right, there is no change in Photoshop, but for some reason you seem not to have any catalog associated with your organizer, and the organizer can't work without an open catalog. When you create albums from the editor, the editor uses the organizer to create the albums.
So, you need any catalog associated with your organizer, even an empty one (with no risks for slowing or duplicates).
Please keep the shift key pressed while opening the catalog. You'll get a prompt to create a new catalog: accept. You can close the organizer and start again to create your catalog from the editor as before.
