When I save a file to jpg format from Elements 2024, it defaults the save location to the folder where the previous saved file was saved, which is usually not the source of the image being save.
I want the default save-as folder to be the location of its source RAW file.
I see the save options including “Organize” / “Include in Elements Organizer,” which is highlighted in blue and I can check, and a second option “Save in Version Set with Original,” which is in black text and does not allow me to check.
“Save ss a Copy” is another option but is also in black and cannot be selected.
Is there any way to make a setting change to set the default save location to be the source folder?
Thanks / Kozmo

If I understand you correctly, the only way you can save the jpeg to the same folder as the raw file is to use the Organizer. I assume you are not currently using it.

You got it right, trying to save the jpeg to the same folder as the raw file. I do not use Elements Organizer. When I do the "save-as," an explorer-like screen pops up with folder heirarchy to find correct folder.

I have been using the Organizer since Elements 3.0 and am a big fan. I highly recommend that you give it a try. It will certainly speed up your workflow and ability to easily find your files.
