save metadata to file--does not always save face tags to jpeg files.

I bought photoshop elements 15 for one reason, facial recognition, then tag the faces so that I could then use File Explore in search mode to quickly find a person’s picture.

What I found out was you could tag a face in one picture, use save metadata to file and the tag name would be there. Then go to the next picture do the same thing and no tag names in that file, then go to the next picture and it’s OK.

It’s all so random.

All I want is to know that when I tag a face it will show up in the file .jpeg

Thanks for any help with this.

Douglas, I don't have a solution for you, but it seems like there are a lot of us with this problem. See this thread: Photoshop Elements 15: Tags do not write to metadata in their entirety, why would that be?  "Random" is exactly the right word.

I also just found this on a different forum (why are there two forums??): Elements 14: Tagging photos is not sticking in metadata | Photoshop Family Customer Community  Seems to indicate that this has been a problem since Elements 14. It's incredible to me that they released a whole new version without fixing this.
