Saving after photomerge in Photoshop Elements 12

New Here ,
Jan 31, 2017 Jan 31, 2017

I have successfully merged several bmp files in Photoshop Elements 12 but there doesn't seem to be any way to save my results. I'm in guided mode and there are buttons at the bottom right for Done and Cancel but the Done button just loses all my work and puts me back out of the photomerge option, the same as Cancel. In the File menu, Save and Save As are greyed out. How do I save it?

Hi david,

which photomerge are you using for Merging?

Could you please confirm whether you are seeing file named "Untitled" in the photo Bin when you click on Done button ?

Thanks,

Rupali

Hi Rupali,

I'm using the group shot photomerge and nothing new appears in the photo bin.

Regards

Dave

Hi david,

Please delete the preferences file of photoshop elements. for this :

1. In Photoshop Elements, go to Edit -> Preferences -> General

2. Click on 'Reset preferences on next launch' button. See the screen grab attached below.

3. Click on 'Ok' button.

4. Relaunch the application.

5. Try to merge your photos using Photomerge Groupshot. A new file named "Untitled" would be created in PhotoBin.

6. Save that file using File -> Save/ Save as.

Please let me know if the issue still persists.

Thanks,

Rupali

Thanks for your suggestions. It turns out that the problem was due to the size of the images. The images, from a scanner, were too large for the program to handle. When I reduced the size, the merged "Untitled" image appeared in PhotoBin and I was able to save it.

I have Elements 11 and have exactly the same problem, I can merge several images, but when I click on "done" it just reverts to the original base image

Go to Expert Mode and click the layers button. The merged image usually has a background and edited layer. You should be able to use File >> Save As
