Just bought a new high screen resolution laptop which has a fantastic sharp screen......however, when I installed my copy of Elements 12 the text, tools and everything is TINY!!!! Everything else so far is fine, but what can I do to get the text etc readable? I have tried changing the resolution but it doesn't make any difference. Has anyone else upgraded to a high screen resolution and experienced the same? If so is there anything I can do?

Scaling the user interface (UI) is not available in Elements 12, but is available if you upgrade to Elements 14. See:

Thanks for the reply........should have guessed it would entail spending money on an enhancement!!!!
is there any worthwhile difference between 14 and 12? other than UI scaling?
Cheers

PSEv.15 is the current iteration of the program.
What's new in Photoshop Elements 15
Suggest that you evaluate the 30 day free trial to be sure that the screen resolution will not be a problem for you.

One final question if I may. I have Elements 12 and I am now considering upgrading to 15. My problem will be resolved and I get the new features etc. However........can anyone recommend upgrading or uninstalling 12 and getting a new "clean" version of 15? Anyone had any issues buying the upgrade and installing over 12?
Thank you

There is no upgrade. Each version of PSE is independent. Any reference to "upgrade" is related to marketing. There may be a discount if one owns a registered prior version, although the price may be lower in one of the box stores or at Amazon without "discount." Installation of a new version is not over an old version.
You can have both PSEv.12 & PSEv.15 on the same computer.
