I used Search to locate an image from Organizer. The image appears as a thumbnail. How do I move/open that image in Editor?

Thanks.

Your 4 choices after clicking on the thumbnail to highlight it:

- menu Edit >> Edit with Photoshop Elements editor

- shortcut Ctrl I

- right click to open the contextual menu with the option to edit with Photoshop Elements editor

- the last icon on the right of the buttom bar = Editor

Thanks , but nothing worked. I clicked on the thumbnail and a checkmark in a blue box appeared in the lower right. Edit from Photoshop Elements Editor and all other Edit choices are in grey, so I can't click on them. The shortcut did not do anything and I can't seem to right click. I don't see a button that refers to editing. I am obviously missing something basic. Can you please try to help me again?

Thanks.

That works only if you click on the thumbnail amidst thousands of other images. I first want to find the image using Search.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I am attaching steps with screenshots to help you in searching and opening photos in PSE editor.

  1. Launch Organizer and select search icon on the top right.
    1.png
  2. Then search UI will open. On the top you'll find a search bar. Here you can type the name of photo/ person / event / Place you are searching for. As you type you'll see suggestions based on the information already present in your catalog. On the left, you'll see icons for various metaphors(Name/Person/Event/Place/Smart Tag/Star Rating/Date) which you can use for searching the image you are looking for.

  3. Once you have searched the image, you'll see results in the background. Then click on the back icon on the top right to return to the grid.
    3.png
  4. Once you are back in the grid you'll see the search results, select the image you want to open in the Editor and then click on the Editor button at the bottom.

Please revert if you have any doubt.

Thanks,

Ankit

Thanks, but I did not receive the screen shots, which would help.

I can search and find the image in Organizer, but I don't know what you mean by the back icon in the top right. There is no icon there.

I don't know if I reach step 4, but by selecting the image, I assume you mean click it once so that a checkmark appears at the bottom right of the thumbnail. There is no button for Editor on that page. That's the crucial step that appears to be missing.

Thanks for your continuing help.

I figured it out. You have to click on the back arrow in the top left and then click on Edit and select Edit with Photoshop Elements Editor. Maybe there is another way.
