Why all of a sudden do I have to sign in to elements???. I tried to use CHAT and it failed.  I should not have to sign in to anything. using windows 10 home 64 bit.

Sometimes it happens after an update, or if you use a utility such as ccleaner to clean things up.  Generally, you just sign in, and forget about it.  

Know how you deauthorize your copy (like when you get a new computer and need to instal lthe software on it)?  You sign out.
