slide show file corruption

I have created a couple of slide shows with 20-30 pictures in PSE 21. Of the 4 I have created 2 of them have started out ok and then for some reason, it will only display half of the pictures when you run the show. It should be about 4 minutes and PSE21 is only showing 2:28. If I try and move pictures around so that maybe it will find the other pictures, it corrupts the file and then they don't work or load at all. PSE 21 hangs and then fails and crashes.

Any ideas on what is causing this?

I am running windows 11 home (Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000)

I only have one video card.

Update. On one of the two slide shows, I changed the theme and then it found the rest of the files again. I still have one that corrupted. It would open, play about half way and then hang. Then after a couple of minutes it would crash.
