I just purchased the Sony AR7iii - (prior used a Canon). My Raw files are .arw extension.
Also just upgraded to Elements 2018.
I've read here about the problems experienced in loading these files to elements.
What is the present solution that will not result in losing file quality to get into elements organiser?
Mike
Just use the menu Help >> Updates to get the required ACR 10.1 version.
For users with older versions: using the DNGconverter does not lose quality.

Yes, Elements 2018, after updating as stated above.
(I did check myself with a test file from the Web).
That should work ok from your camera or from a card reader.

FAQ: Will Photoshop Elements work with my camera, or Why won't my raw files open?
Seems you have Photoshop Elements 12?
You would need at least PSE13 for your camera (the current version is PSE2018).
If you have PSE12, you can download and install the free Adobe DNGconverter software mentioned in that faq.
That independent software (not a plugin) can batch convert a whole folder of your raw files to the DNG raw format that PSE12 can read and edit. Free and same quality, with an additional (batch) step.
