Stitching photos in elements 13

Hello - I am trying to stitch two (or more) photos together using Photoshop Elements 13.  I have tried everything that the user guide indicated but nothing is working.   Can someone please let me know if this is possible, or if I need to upgrade to a newer version to easily accomplish this?

It would help if you posted the images you are talkling about, and what you did to "stitch" them together.
