Sun Fade Tool in Styles.

New Here ,
Aug 15, 2022 Aug 15, 2022

Same issue again. Using a solid color and wanting to give it a "sun fade effect" under "styles" effects. I'm using a solid dark gray and it keeps turning it into a brown fade. Tried with various colors, does the same thing. Must be a setting but I can't figure it out. Thank you.

Yes those colors are built in to the Layer Style.

If you were to open the layer style "sun fade effect" into photoshop cc the color overlay is set to a color that resembles the orange glow associated with sunsets.

You can replicate the "sun fade effect" layer style using a gradient fill adjustment layer with a color fill adjustment layer above that with the following settings, then you can experiment with different settings to see if you can get the desired effect.

Gradient Fill Adjustment Layer

(Layer>New Fill Layer>Gradient)

Color Fill adjustment Layer

(Layer>New Fill Layer>Solid Color)

(set Layer Blending Mode to Color Burn)
