(text engine could not open)

keep getting  an error that the text engine cannot open. it worked before and then just quit. I'm trying to get my boys eagle scout invites done and it won't let me put text on any of my photos.

Which version of PSE?

It is 2018. I got it fixed. My text font was defaulting to myrian pro regular.  Anytime I clicked on it to try and change it it would stop PSE altogether and close. After clicking on the font many times i finally got it to change to a different font and all is well.
