The Polygon Lasso Tool Closes Automatically

New Here ,
Sep 03, 2017 Sep 03, 2017

This tool is really starting to drive me up the wall.  If I'm going around a large image, being careful to use the tool, it will close automatically at seemingly random times.  Once this start happening, lines are crisscrossed and it becomes nearly impossible to salvage what you've already selected.

To make matters worse, adding new sections using the same tool it very flaky.  9 out of 10 times when I click to add the beginning of a new selection, no anchor is placed. down.  I end up clicking all around the image trying to get one started.

Please try resetting preferences once.

To do this, Go to Edit > Preferences (Mac: Photoshop Elements > Preferences > General), click the Reset Preferences on next launch button, and then click OK.

Now relaunch application and see if issue exists.

Thanks,

Anwesha

Same behavior as before.  I can drag momentarily when holding the spacebar, but it always freezes a fraction of a second later.

No never set photoshop or photoshop elements for 100% memory usage.

70 to 75% is ideal for the majority of users.

FYI that number is 75% of my memory usage, every computer is different. It is not recommended to go above 75%
