Thumbnail previews sometimes missing in PSE8

Hi there,

Running Windows 10, had PS Elements 8 for years and have had no issues with it...until recently. Lately when I first open the program and go to open a file, I can see the image previews just fine. But when I go to open a second file, the image previews have disappeared completely and all that's left is the name, not even an icon or anything. I haven't changed anything, and my graphics card is up to date. I wasn't sure if I was missing anything. It's made my life very frustrating as I make up portfolio sheets and other things that require multiple pictures in one sitting. Currently I'm having to close down the program and reopen it just to see the image previews. Any idea?

I would reset the pse 8 editor preferences by going to

C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\8.0

and trashing the Editor folder.
