Tools for free 30 days Photoshop 2020/System Requirements

Community Beginner ,
Dec 12, 2019 Dec 12, 2019

Has the iMac mid 2015. Retina 5K 27tum. Processor 3.3Ghz Quad Intel Core i5.
24GB memory. For ten years, Photoshop elements 6 have been used. After updating to macOS Catalina 10.15.1 I couldn't use Photoshop element. 6 and several other 32bit programs. Have installed the latest Free 30 days Photoshop elem. 2020. Looks like all tools do not work fully in Expert mode.
Question 1. Is my hardware perfectly ok for the 2020 version?
Question 2. Not all tools are included in the free, you get these when you pay?

Sincerely, and hope for answers,  ingvald1

Thanks for the reply. There are tools in Expert. Spot Healing Brush and Color Picker that I tried. Maybe it should be handled differently than in Illustrator ver 6 that I have used before?

The problem may be (and may not be) that you're working with 16 bit images.  Some of the tools won't work in that case and is normal.

Thanks for the reply. Have looked at all the info for these JPEG photos created in iPhone / iPad. How do I see about 16 bit images and which photo tools create 16 bit? Ask someone who doesn't know so much about the technology.

Menu Image >> mode.

If 8 bits is greyed out, that means it is already in 8 bits.

The most common situation when your image is in 16 bits is when you have edited a raw file in the Adobe ACR plugin with the default option to open in 16 bits. From what you say, you are in 8 bits.

So the most common issue is that the tool palette can't display all the tools at the same time. So a number of tool icons are 'hidden'. For instance, the crop tool and the cookie cutter do share the same icon, and you can chose the right one from the tool palette on the bottom.

Thanks for the help.

I then assume that my operator system is ok for Photoshop 2020 and that I can buy this and that I can study the handling more of the program.I sit down on the school bench. Thank you all for your help and wish you a Merry Christmas.
