Transferring Facial Recognition Data to a New Computer with Elements Organizer 2019??

Community Beginner ,

I have close to a million photos and at least half have been analyzed and peoples faces have been tagged in Photoshop Elements 2019.

I have install the Photoshop Elements 2019 on another computer.  How do I transfer just the tagging data so I can plug in an external drive with all the photos on it and continue working on the laptop??

The theoretical answer is simple, but I am not sure it will be easy with such a big library.

1 - The tagging is stored in your catalog.

2 - You can copy or move your catalog folder where you want from your explorer (not available from the catalog manager).

3 - There are two ways to move your media files library.

3a = use your left folders panel in tree mode, and drag and drop the master folder of your files tree to the other drive

3b = do a full backup on an external drive and restore it on custom location in the other drive.

Warning, I would not use solution 3a without a full backup for safety, so solution 3b would be better. The other advantage beside safety is that the catalog would be restored in the target drive along with the media files tree. You'll simply have to plug in both computers alternatively. Of course, such a backup and restore will take a lot of time. What is the size of your library in GB?
