Unable to install Photoshop Elements 2024 on Sonoma Silicon

I purchased Photoshop Elements 2024 (version 24.0) in December for my new MacBook Pro M3 Pro Silicon. I have never been able to install it. Initially the OS was Sonoma 14.2.1. Now it is Sonoma 14.3.1. I have re-downloaded the installer (Photoshop Elements 2024.app) several times but it remains identical to the one I downloaded in December (cmp in Terminal). When I run the installer, it says "Sorry, installation failed. An unknown error has occurred. (Error Code: 1)". I paid for it and I would love to get it installed and running.

I booted in Safe Mode (confirmed in System Info, and Sophos antivirus was not running). I ran the Photoshop Elements 2024 installer and got the same failure message.

Try this:  Install it and forget about it-- zero chance you will "get signed up" for anything unless you choose it.  It's a thing that sometimes works for people.  

Once installed then try the PSE install.
