New Here ,
Oct 07, 2017 Oct 07, 2017

I have been trying to install PSE 9 on my new iMac with Sierra and it is not supported beacuse of the age. I was able to install PSE 18 and creative cloud  on the new iMac. I REALLY need to work in PSE 9 right now for work. As I have MANY actions that I use daily and that are now not compatiable with PSE 18. So I tried to download PSE 9, via Adboe download, on my 2014 Mac Pro Book. It did not work. Then I thought it my be the download and so I went old school and installed PSE 9 via remote disc with my orginal disc and it work like a charm! But, I really need it on my deskyop iMac so i uninstalled it from the Mac Pro book. restarted the Mac Pro and then tried to install via remote disc on my desktop iMac. It tells me Adobe installer is all readdy running and that I need to uninstall first. Is this a meassage from my Mac Pro? Or is this because I have PSE 18 and CC running on this iMac desktop? Do I have yo uninstall PSE 18 and CC on the desk top to install PSE 9?

The only way to install pse 9 on macOS Sierra or High Sierra is like this:

1. Double click on the downloaded PhotoshopElements_9_LS15.dmg to mount it.

2. Double click on the Adobe Photoshop Elements icon in the window that appears

3. Right click on the Install.app and click on Show Package Contents

the above is from following the directions on this page under Creative Suite 5.5, 5, and 4

Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra)

Even if you get pse 9 perfectly installed it still might not work right since pse 9 is eight versions out of date and it's been eight mac os versions since pse 9 was

supported by adobe.

Apple constantly changes/remove apis and other files from one mac os to the next, so what worked on just the last version of mac os might not work on the newest version of mac os.

The actions from pse 9 should work in photoshop elements 2018.

In pse 2018 you can load the actions in Expert mode into the Actions panel.
