Uninstall old version 1st or not ?

I have PE14 installed at the moment, if I upgrade to PE 2018 do I uninstall PE14 before the upgrade of after ?.

If before what files do I need to backup to ensure it all work after the new install.

or

Do I buy a full version to be on the safe side ?

Both versions of the program can be on the same machine; they are independent.

Any reference to "upgrade" is a marketing tool. A newer version of the program does not overwrite an older version.

Adobe may offer you a discount if you are the owner of an older version of the software. Shop around in the box stores and on Amazon, esp. as we approach the holidays.

Consider downloading the free 30-day trial of PSEv,2018 to evaluate it.

Yes, it should. Why not install the fully functioning, free 30-day trial? Try it out, see if you like it. Then, you can  purchase the license if it is a keeper for you.

As for the organizer, keep v. 14 for a while until you are certain that it works to your satisfaction in v.2018.
